A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to provide communication support in educational settings. This role involves travel to various schools within the Henderson, NV area, ensuring accessibility and effective communication for students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication between hearing-impaired students and their teachers, peers, and staff.
- Interpret classroom instruction, school events, and meetings accurately and confidentially.
- Collaborate with educational teams to support student learning and participation.
- Adapt interpretations to different subjects and educational levels.
- Maintain professionalism and abide by ethical standards in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification preferred.
- Experience interpreting in K-12 educational environments.
- Strong understanding of educational terminology and classroom dynamics.
- Ability to travel between school locations as needed.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
