This full-time contract position supports the needs of students and school staff, ensuring equal access to learning through expert ASL interpretation.

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

• Louisiana Department of Education Interpreter Certification (required)
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language and effective interpretation skills
• Previous experience in school or educational environments is preferred
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, students, and other interpreters
• Must successfully complete district-required drug screening and fingerprinting
• Organized, reliable, and able to manage confidential information responsibly

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver in-person sign language interpretation for students, faculty, and staff across multiple school sites (assignments and age groups to be determined)
• Support academic instruction, school events, assessments, and meetings involving deaf or hard-of-hearing students
• Follow assigned student schedules in accordance with the school calendar, Monday through Friday (full-time, 35 hours per week)
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to confidentiality standards at all times
• Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive learning environment
