Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Current license or permit from the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Transliterators (ALBIT)
• Strong fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Effective interpersonal and communication abilities
• Commitment to supporting student learning and inclusion

Responsibilities:

• Deliver interpreting and transliterating services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students during classroom instruction, assemblies, and school-related activities
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff using ASL and other methods as needed
• Work collaboratively as part of a student support team, adapting to various educational settings
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Manage assignments, schedules, and adapt to varying caseload requirements
