Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by providing essential sign language interpretation services to students in an engaging educational environment. This on-site, contract role offers you the opportunity to facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers, ensuring that every student has equitable access to classroom content and activities. You'll work collaboratively with school staff to break down communication barriers and contribute to the success of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required)
• Full-time availability throughout the school year
• Prior experience in school-based and educational sign language interpreting (preferred)
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and fostering inclusive learning
• Must possess or be able to obtain all required credentials/licensure prior to assignment
• Strong interpersonal skills for facilitating peer and staff interactions
• Consistent, reliable transportation to the school site

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time interpretation for students during lessons, small groups, and school activities
• Facilitate communication between students who use sign language and their teachers, staff, and classmates
• Support students' full access to curriculum and extracurricular programs
• Collaborate with educational teams and participate in conferences as needed
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
