Job Description

Step into a dynamic environment supporting students as an experienced Sign Language Interpreter. This contract opportunity begins August 3rd, 2026, and continues through May 21st, 2027, situated onsite near Hamilton, GA. Two Sign Language Interpreters are needed for full-time schedules (at least 37.5 hours per week), though flexibility for part-time hours may be considered based on your availability.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with previous interpreting experience in educational settings
  • Active Georgia Educator Certificate as a Sign Language Interpreter and an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Alternatively, applicants may qualify as an SLI Para with close EIPA scores who plan to retake the exam; transition to a full SLI position is possible during the school year
  • Comfort in adapting caseloads, as assignments will be tailored based on district needs and your age group expertise
  • Reliable documentation of services is essential, as daily logs are required; attention to detail and consistent record-keeping are a must
  • Strong interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with staff, students, and administration
  • Commitment to supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students of varying ages and backgrounds
