Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state Interpreter License required
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Bilingual skills strongly preferred for one of two positions
- Ability to commit to a full-time schedule, all day, Monday through Friday
- Experience in a 1:1 or classroom-based educational interpreting role
- Strong communication, professionalism, and adaptability
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpreting services for a middle school student
- Interpret in classroom, educational, and extracurricular settings
- Foster accessible communication between the student, teachers, and peers
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in line with state requirements
- Collaborate with staff to support the students individualized educational needs
- Participate actively in the school community to enhance the educational experience
