Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with fluency in interpreting spoken English to ASL and vice versa
• Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or similar settings preferred
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and sensitivity to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• RID certification or equivalent credentials highly desirable
• Ability to adapt interpretation style to meet individual student needs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, lectures, discussions, and school events between students, educators, and peers
• Collaborate with other educational professionals to ensure full participation of deaf and hard-of-hearing students in classroom and extracurricular activities
• Provide interpreting services during meetings, assemblies, and parent conferences as needed
• Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions
• Assist in developing strategies for accessible learning and positive student engagement
