Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with strong expressive and receptive skills
• Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting preferred
• Understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality requirements, and professional standards
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
• Flexibility to adapt interpreting style and methods to meet diverse needs across classrooms and activities
• High school diploma or equivalent required; interpreter certification (such as EIPA, RID, or relevant state credentials) highly desirable

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate, timely sign language interpretation during classroom lessons, meetings, student interactions, extracurricular activities, and school events
• Foster clear communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and all members of the school community

• Maintain professional boundaries, adhere to ethical guidelines, and uphold confidentiality
