Qualifications and Skills Desired:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SC SLI required)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting strongly preferred
• Ability to translate spoken English into ASL and vice versa in real-time
• Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability
• Commitment to working onsite throughout the contracts duration

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction and communication between students, teachers, and staff
• Ensure that all assigned students have equal access to curriculum and related activities
• Participate in team meetings and IEP conferences as needed
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of interpreting assignments
• Provide support in extracurricular or school-sponsored events as required
• Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere while advocating for students needs

Position Details:

• Contract duration: August 5th, 2026 June 4th, 2027
• Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• All work is to be completed onsite at the designated school(s)
