This role involves providing sign language interpretation services in educational settings, supporting effective communication for students, staff, and families. The position is based in Franklin, TN, with required travel to various school locations within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate accurate and clear sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion for hearing-impaired students
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines
- Travel to multiple schools as assigned within the designated area
- Assist in creating an inclusive environment to promote student engagement and success
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a sign language interpreter in educational environments
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel regularly to different school sites as required
- Knowledge of educational terminology and practices preferred
- Commitment to maintaining professional conduct and confidentiality
