As a vital team member, youll play an essential role in fostering communication and inclusion for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Georgia Educator Certification required for Sign Language Interpreters
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Previous experience interpreting in school settings preferred
  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining accurate daily service logs
  • Professional, collaborative, and attentive to student needs across various age groups
  • Skilled at building rapport with students, teachers, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction and interactions between staff, students, and peers
  • Collaborate with educational professionals to tailor interpreting services based on student needs and assigned caseload
  • Accurately document daily sessions and submit timely logs as directed
  • Communicate effectively with both students and colleagues
  • Participate in pre- and post-planning meetings, as needed, to prepare for a successful school year
  • Demonstrate adaptability in working with different age groups and educational settings within the district
