Step into a meaningful role supporting student success by providing sign language interpretation within an educational environment. This full-time contract opportunity begins in August and continues through the school year, offering an impactful way to utilize your interpreting expertise. You will work 1:1 with a middle school student, facilitating communication and ensuring access to classroom learning and activities. A preference will be given to candidates with bilingual skills to further enrich the student's educational experience. Two positions are available, with ongoing on-site engagement preferred for optimal impact.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current state interpreter license required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with educators and staff
• Experience interpreting 1:1 for students is a plus
• Bilingual skills are highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate ASL interpretation for a middle school student throughout the school day
• Support the students participation in classroom instruction and school activities
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to align interpreting services with the students learning goals
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
• Assist with facilitating inclusive and accessible learning environments
