Job Description

Take your American Sign Language (ASL) expertise to the next level with an exciting opportunity supporting students in a vibrant school setting. Full-time and part-time contract positions are available for skilled Sign Language Interpreters for the 2026-2027 academic year. Youll foster communication access and inclusion for students who are Deaf or hard-of-hearing, making a meaningful impact each day.

Your assignment will span from early August through late May, with the possibility of pre- and post-planning days to ensure an effective transition for all involved. The district values understanding your unique skills and preferences, so caseloads and student age groups are tailored during interviews to match your background and comfort level. This flexibility allows you to shine where you are most effective.

Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia Educator Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Comfort with daily service documentation and logging activities
  • Commitment to onsite interpreting; candidates providing only remote services are not eligible
  • Professionalism and adaptability in K-12 educational environments

What youll do:

  • Provide in-person interpreting services within the school district, facilitating communication between students and staff
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support student success in academic and social settings
  • Complete daily log entries documenting interpreted sessions and student progress
  • Adapt interpreting strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
