Expect a collaborative atmosphere with opportunities to work alongside other dedicated professionalsplus a district known for supporting specialists. The assignment runs from September 2nd to June 17th, offering a steady 32.5-hour work week.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Washington Sign Language Interpreter certification is required
  • Strong fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience working with K-12 students or a strong desire to support this age group
  • Comfort interpreting in an educational setting, adapting language as needed for students ages and comprehension levels
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpreting services for students in classroom and school-related activities
  • Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to ensure student participation
  • Accurately convey spoken information in ASL and vice versa
  • Maintain professional confidentiality in all assignments
  • Support an inclusive school culture and help foster student engagement
