Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to an engaging contract opportunity supporting K-12 students. This role is located in the Federal Way, WA area and runs from September 2nd to June 17th, offering a consistent schedule of 32.5 hours per week, all at a single school location. Collaborate with educators to make a meaningful impact by bridging communication between Deaf/hard of hearing students and the school community.

What were seeking:

• Current Washington Sign Language Interpreter certification
• Experience interpreting in school settings preferred, but not required
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to adapt interpreting strategies for various age groups (K-12)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility, professionalism, and a passion for supporting student success

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing interpretation for students, staff, and families in classroom and campus activities
• Supporting communication access for students in both group and individual settings
• Collaborating with general and special education teams to tailor communication approaches
• Preparing for assignments by reviewing lesson materials and participating in team meetings as needed
• Maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions
• Assisting with additional duties related to student access and inclusion, as assigned
