Job Description

A school-based professional opportunity is available for a licensed Sign Language Interpreter specializing in supporting middle school students. This contract role is located onsite in Federal Way, WA, with a commitment from ASAP through June 16, 2026. The position involves working closely with students at the middle school level, providing essential communication services within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate and effective sign language interpretation services to support middle school students' communication needs.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments.
  • Maintain consistent daily schedules, totaling 7 hours per day with 6.5 hours paid, equating to 35 hours per week.
  • Adhere to state licensing requirements and uphold professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current Washington State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (WA TVI) license.
  • Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher.
  • Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in school settings, preferably with middle school students.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within an educational team.
