Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) 

Location: Evans, Georgia
Schedule: Full-Time | 20262027 School Year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | MondayFriday

Position Overview:
A local school district is seeking a qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to support students in a school-based setting. This role involves providing real-time interpretation of instructional and auditory information throughout the school day. The SLI will work closely with assigned students to ensure access to classroom content and support communication with teachers and peers. At times, additional re-teaching or clarification may be needed to support student comprehension. The interpreter will also assist in facilitating communication during social interactions with hearing peers.

SLI Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, real-time interpretation in classroom settings
  • Support student understanding through clarification or re-delivery of information as needed
  • Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all school interactions

SLI Requirements:

  • Active Georgia Sign Language Interpreter  licensure/credentials 
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
  • Active Georgia Educator Certification
