A school-based travel opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter in Edison, NJ. This role involves providing interpretation services in educational settings to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing, facilitating effective communication between students, teachers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Facilitate communication in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility and understanding.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Previous experience interpreting in educational environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Deaf culture and educational terminology.
• Ability to travel to various school sites as assigned within the Edison, NJ area.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
