Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support in an educational setting near Duluth, GA. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with students, supporting their academic and social success in a vibrant school environment. The position requires flexibility to work both as a dedicated 1:1 interpreter and as a part-time floating interpreter at the Alliance Academy, ensuring a diverse and engaging work experience.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid GA DOE SLI License (must be in hand and ready to present)
• Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation within an educational setting
• Ability to adapt to various classroom dynamics and student needs
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with educators, students, and support staff
• Previous experience interpreting for school-aged children is highly valued

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, on-site sign language interpretation services as assigned (1:1 and floating roles)
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education teams to tailor communication for student comprehension
• Foster an inclusive learning atmosphere for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all student and staff interactions
• Complete necessary logs and documentation as required by school administration
