Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID or equivalent preferred)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English
- Prior experience interpreting in school or educational settings beneficial
- Ability to effectively facilitate communication between students, educators, and peers
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and professionalism
- Flexibility to adapt to changing classroom needs and student schedules
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one interpreting for a student throughout the school day
- Work closely with educational staff to support individualized education plans and learning goals
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards related to educational interpreting
- Assist with both classroom instruction and school-related activities as needed
- Monitor and report on student progress and challenges to the appropriate team members
