Job Description

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available in Denton, NC, specifically supporting an elementary student in a school setting. This role requires active licensure and specialized skills to ensure effective communication access for students with hearing impairments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active NCDPI Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) license with proof of current status
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is mandatory
  • Experience and proficiency with ECATS (Educational Child Tracking System)
  • Prior experience working in North Carolina schools preferred
  • Ability to handle school-based interpreting duties for elementary-level students

Location and Schedule:

  • Position based at North Stanly Middle School, New London, NC area
  • Full-time commitment, approximately 37.5 hours per week
  • Contract term from August 4, 2026, through May 28, 2027

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation services to facilitate communication between the elementary student, staff, and peers
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support student success and inclusion
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records in ECATS, aligned with school policies
  • Adhere to confidentiality and professional standards at all times
