Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) School-Based

Location: Albany, Alabama
Schedule: Full-Time | Next School Year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Position Overview:
A school district near Decatur, AL is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide 1:1 support for a high school student in a self-contained classroom. This is an onsite role focused on ensuring access to instruction and communication throughout the school day. You will be joining a supportive team, including another contracted SLI. The district is actively interviewing for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 interpretation for a high school student
  • Support communication in a self-contained classroom setting
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure student access and success

Requirements:

  • Alabama SLI Certification
  • EIPA score of 3.5+ (will consider slightly lower)
  • Strong ASL proficiency
  • School-based interpreting experience preferred
  • Ability to complete district fingerprinting
