Bring your expertise in American Sign Language to a rewarding contract opportunity in a school-based environment. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating communication and promoting inclusivity in the classroom, helping students gain confidence and fully participate in their education.
This full-time assignment spans 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and is located in the Decatur, Alabama area working 1:1 with a high school student.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Alabama SLI certification
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience interpreting in a school or similar setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and school activities for student
- Accurately convey spoken information into ASL and vice versa
- Assist in IEP meetings, assemblies, and other school functions as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to address student needs
