This contract-based, per diem role provides flexibility while allowing you to leverage your expertise during key activities such as testing periods.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 3.5 score on the EIPA and active GAPSC credential required
- Previous experience working with K-12 students as a sign language interpreter preferred
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and best practices for educational interpreting
- Ability to adapt communication methods to a range of student ages and needs
- Collaborative attitude when working with educators, staff, and families
What Youll Do:
- Provide accurate sign language interpreting for students and staff during district-wide testing and assessments
- Support students from elementary through high school, ensuring equal access to instructions, questions, and communication
- Maintain professional, ethical standards in line with educational interpreting requirements
- Prepare for assignments by reviewing test materials, terminology, and procedures
- Work a flexible per diem schedule, with hours varying based on testing periods and district needs
- Serve as a supportive presence for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students, fostering inclusion across the district
