Key Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois (IL) Sign Language Interpreter license required
• Experience working with high school students preferred
• Knowledge of current best practices for interpreting in educational settings
• Ability to collaborate professionally with educators and support staff
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) processes a plus
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for high school students in classroom and school-related activities
• Support equal access to curriculum, instruction, and school communications
• Adapt interpreting services to meet individual student needs and learning styles
• Work with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to promote student success
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district and state regulations
• Complete required documentation and participate in team meetings as needed
