Job Description

A school district in Nebraska is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary students in an on-site role. This contract position starts immediately and continues through May 22, 2026, working primarily at an elementary school location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear and effective sign language interpretation services for elementary-aged students during educational activities.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff, ensuring accessibility and inclusion.
  • Work collaboratively with the special education team to support individualized education plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a minimum score of 4.0 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA).
  • Prior experience interpreting in elementary school settings is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work on-site from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
  • Flexibility to work afternoon shifts from 11:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. is also considered.

  • Position located onsite at an elementary school in Lincoln, Nebraska.
