A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a kindergarten student in New Bern, NC. This role involves providing one-on-one interpretation services, requiring a strong understanding of sign language and effective communication techniques to facilitate learning and engagement for the student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation services for a kindergarten student
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure clear communication and accessibility
- Adapt interpretation methods to meet the student's individual needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score required
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings
- Strong understanding of American Sign Language and deaf culture
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to supporting educational success for students with hearing impairments
