Job Description

A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a kindergarten student in New Bern, NC. This role involves providing one-on-one interpretation services, requiring a strong understanding of sign language and effective communication techniques to facilitate learning and engagement for the student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation services for a kindergarten student
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure clear communication and accessibility
  • Adapt interpretation methods to meet the student's individual needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score required
  • Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in educational settings
  • Strong understanding of American Sign Language and deaf culture
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to supporting educational success for students with hearing impairments
