This role offers an opportunity to use your sign language interpreting skills in an educational setting located in Converse, TX. As a traveling professional, you will provide essential communication support to students and staff, facilitating access and inclusion within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken and signed communication between students, teachers, and staff during classroom instruction and school activities
- Assist with conveying educational content accurately and effectively for students who use sign language
- Collaborate with educators and support personnel to create an inclusive learning environment
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Travel to various schools as assigned to provide interpreting services
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting techniques
- Experience working within K-12 educational settings preferred
