Bring your passion for supporting students as a certified Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school environment. This full-time, on-site contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with students from Pre-K through 8th grade, fostering communication and inclusion within an engaging academic setting. The assignment is anticipated to begin as soon as possible and will continue through the end of May 2027. Youll be based at a single campus, enabling you to build meaningful connections with both staff and students.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification: Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of HearingBEI I or II (previous system) or Basic (current system) required
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings is strongly preferred
• Must be able to complete a district fingerprinting and background check as part of the credentialing process
• Comfortable interpreting for a diverse age range, with caseload details to be confirmed
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality sign language interpreting services for students in PK-8th grade within the school environment
• Facilitate clear communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and staff
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance the learning experience and ensure accessibility
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with all relevant guidelines
