A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is sought to provide essential communication support for students and staff in a school setting. This travel assignment is based in Concord, NC, offering the opportunity to work directly within educational environments to facilitate effective interaction for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and events.
- Collaborate with teachers, students, and parents to support educational accessibility.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.
- Adapt interpretation techniques to suit various educational settings and student needs.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay current with best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with strong interpreting experience, preferably in educational settings.
- Knowledge of deaf culture and Deaf education.
- Ability to travel as required for assignment locations within or near Concord, NC.
