Qualifications:

• Current EIPA Score of 4.0 (required)
• Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in an educational setting
• Skilled in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with deaf and hard-of-hearing student needs
• Ability to work well with young children, fostering engagement and clear communication
• Committed to in-person service for the duration of the assignment
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpreting services for an elementary-aged student during all classroom activities and instruction
• Facilitate clear, effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Support the students individual educational plan (IEP) and adapt interpreting methods as needed
• Maintain professional confidentiality and adhere to all school and district policies
• Collaborate with educators and special services staff to ensure an inclusive, accessible classroom environment
