Step into a rewarding environment supporting students as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity runs from August 3, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with the potential for pre- and post-planning days. Full-time availability is preferred (37.5 hours per week), though part-time schedules may be considered based on candidate availability. The specific student caseload will be tailored following interviews, ensuring a placement that suits your preferred age group and areas of experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Educator Certification for Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) with an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
- Candidates with near-qualifying EIPA scores, intending to re-test, may be considered for a SLI Tech role with growth to a full SLI placement
- Proficiency in American Sign Language within educational settings
- Strong documentation skills with readiness to maintain daily service logs
- Ability to collaborate with educators, staff, and students effectively
- Commitment to compliance and student-centered support
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person interpretation services for students with hearing impairments
- Adapt communication methods to varying student age groups and needs
- Consult with school staff and parents to promote accessible learning
- Track daily activities and student interaction for reporting and compliance
- Participate in team discussions to determine ideal educational placement
