Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to a dynamic school environment in beautiful Central Florida. This school-based, on-site contract role is set to begin in August 2026 and continue through the end of May 2027, with full-time hours (37.5 per week) across a standard academic schedule. Youll work one-on-one with a student, providing crucial interpretation and support to help facilitate their educational journey.
Qualifications:
- Eligible to interpret in an educational setting
- Hold an EIPA level 3 or higher, OR
- Possess one of the following: RID: NIC, NAD, or Educational Certificate (K-12 or OTC)
- Ability to complete a two-part onboarding process required by the district
- Flexible to be assigned to one or more schools (specifics to be determined)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and professionalism
Position Details & Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation and translation services for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students in all school activities
- Support fully inclusive classroom participation for your assigned student
- Adapt interpreting to varied academic content and environments
- Collaborate with school team members, teachers, and specialists
- Maintain regular attendance and timely, accurate timesheet submissions as required by district processes
This role will keep you engaged in meaningful one-on-one support where your skills directly empower a student every day. The districts budget is expected to be finalized on 6/8, and interviews are likely to be scheduled soon thereaftermake sure your credentials and application are ready!
