Qualifications:

• Valid AK EIPA score required
• Current credentials/certifications for Sign Language Interpreting
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in educational settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver interpretation services for students, teachers, and staff in general and special education classes
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities for K-12 students
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet the unique needs of individual students
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to provide consistent communication access and foster student success

Work Details:

• Full-time schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Serve a roster of K-12 students, with caseloads varying based on student needs
