Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III required
  • Strong preference for EIPA score of 3.5+ (candidates with 3.0+ are encouraged to apply); QAS score of 3 or higher also considered
  • Experience interpreting for elementary-age students preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of sign language modalities (Visaphonics expertise appreciated but not mandatory)
  • Ability to adapt and provide coverage in multiple school settings as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one sign language interpretation and support for assigned students
  • Fill in at other campuses if primary student is absent
  • Adapt to various communication preferences and learning needs within the school environment
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate interpretation at all times
