Job Description

We are seeking skilled Sign Language Interpreters to support K-12 students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity spans the school year, beginning August 24, 2026, and concluding June 11, 2027. Multiple locations with vibrant school communities offer the chance to work collaboratively with educational teams dedicated to inclusive learning.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification/licensure required
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting in a K-12 educational environment preferred
  • Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and English
  • Ability to adapt communication for varying age groups and learning needs
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional, reliable, and able to manage multiple assignments across multiple sites

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, activities, and events for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and staff
  • Support individual student needs as specified in IEPs and academic programming
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster an accessible learning setting
  • Travel between assigned school sites as needed within the district
