Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience interpreting in educational or youth-centered settings preferred
- Knowledge of educational terminology and classroom protocols
- Certification or licensing meeting state and school requirements
- Strong sense of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Ability to adapt quickly and communicate clearly across diverse academic scenarios
Core Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and other school functions
- Provide clear, accurate interpretation between students, staff, and others as needed
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning and participation
