Job Description

A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support educational settings in Boston, MA. This role involves facilitating communication between deaf and hearing individuals within a school environment, ensuring equal access to spoken and signed information during educational activities. The position requires travel between locations, providing flexible exposure to diverse learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa in classroom and school-related settings
  • Collaborate with teachers, students, and staff to support effective communication and learning
  • Attend meetings, extracurricular activities, and events requiring interpretation services
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while advocating for the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in American Sign Language with strong expressive and receptive skills
  • Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or similar settings preferred
