A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is sought to support educational programs in schools located in Bossier City, LA. This role involves travel to various school sites to facilitate effective communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, ensuring full access to the curriculum and school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation between students, faculty, and staff during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events.
- Implement interpreting techniques that meet the students' individual communication needs.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Travel to assigned school locations as required to deliver interpreting services.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and thorough understanding of Deaf culture.
