A travel opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide essential communication support within educational settings. This role requires interpreting in schools to facilitate clear and effective communication between students, teachers, and staff who use sign language.
Location: Boise, ID (Travel position)
Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction, meetings, and events
- Ensure accurate and clear communication for students with hearing impairments
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance learning experiences for students requiring sign language interpretation
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Adapt interpretation style to suit different age groups and educational settings
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills
- Experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational environments preferred
- Ability to travel as required to various schools and districts within the region
- Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity
- Relevant certification or credentials in sign language interpretation is an advantage
