Job Description

Embark on an enriching contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter across multiple school campuses for the 2026-2027 academic year. This assignment spans August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, providing dedicated communication support for students in inclusive educational settings. Work closely with students, teachers, and staff within a supportive school community, ensuring every learner has equitable access to classroom instruction and school activities.

Key Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of at least 3.5 (required)
  • Professional proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Prior experience working or interning as a Sign Language Interpreter in a K-12 school environment
  • Ability to effectively interpret academic and general content for diverse learners
  • Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, and flexibility across multiple school settings

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classrooms, assemblies, and school-related events
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff
  • Support individual student needs by adapting signing methods and communication strategies
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate records as directed by school and program requirements
  • Participate in educational meetings, collaboration sessions, and professional development as assigned
