The role demands strong expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken communication into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classroom instruction and school events
- Support equitable access to education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students by facilitating communication
- Collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure comprehension and engagement
- Travel to multiple school locations as assigned within the region
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture
