Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills
• Certification such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent (preferred)
• Prior experience interpreting in educational settings or working with children or adolescents is a plus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom discussions, lectures, and school events, translating spoken content into ASL and vice versa
• Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and staff, ensuring full participation in both academic and extracurricular activities
• Assist with individualized educational plans as required by the IEP team
• Collaborate with educators to adapt instructional materials and communication supports as needed
