This full academic year, onsite contract position allows you to put your professional sign language interpreting skills to work in a highly collaborative and inclusive setting located near Berwyn, IL. Youll play a vital role in helping students access curriculum and classroom activities, empowering them to fully participate in their learning community.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, valid professional license as required by state or discipline
• PEL with LBS1 Endorsement (per Illinois state guidelines)
• Experience in educational settings, particularly with DHH and TDHH students, is highly valued
• Strong American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services to students across grade levels per assigned caseload
• Function as a communication facilitator in classrooms, ensuring full participation for DHH/TDHH students within mainstream educational programs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and educational teams to adapt instructional materials and strategies as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and support the implementation of individual accommodations and modifications
• Work at assigned school sites, most likely supporting a satellite program (specific location to be determined)
• Maintain documentation and adhere to confidentiality requirements
