Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Illinois Sign Language Interpreter license required
• Demonstrated proficiency in ASL
• Prior experience working with high school students in educational settings preferred
• Familiarity with adapting communication strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Awareness of state and district-specific requirements for working in Illinois schools

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for high school students during classes, meetings, and school events
• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring goals are met
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Monitor student progress and collaborate with educational teams to adapt strategies as needed
• Participate in school meetings and professional development as required
