Bring your specialized skills as a Sign Language Interpreter or American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students. As part of an itinerant team, youll travel between elementary classrooms to provide in-person ASL interpretation, ensuring that Deaf and hard-of-hearing students are fully included in their learning environments. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, or as a Teacher specializing in ASL
  • Compliance with certification and licensing requirements for school settings
  • Ability to travel between locations within the district
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Experience in elementary education environments preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction and school communications for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students
  • Support students participation in academic and extracurricular activities
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers
  • Collaborate with educators and specialists to optimize student engagement
