Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid and active SLI (Sign Language Interpreter) Certification required
• Previous experience in educational or school settings, ideally at the elementary level
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Familiarity with providing 1:1 interpreting support
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Commitment to ethical interpreting practices and confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 sign language interpreting services for an elementary student during all aspects of the school day
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff
• Adapt interpretation to diverse classroom settings, activities, and instructional styles
• Collaborate with educational professionals to monitor progress and support student needs
• Maintain accurate records and uphold guidelines for confidentiality and professional standards
