Job Description

Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to an impactful contract opportunity serving students across a dynamic school district near Aurora, CO. In this engaging full-time, full school year role, youll play a vital part in fostering inclusive education by supporting both special education (SPED) and general education (Gen Ed) classrooms. This is an onsite, itinerant position, providing services across multiple schools and serving students with a range of mild to severe needs.

In this role, youll collaborate closely with educators, students, and families to ensure equal access and participation for all learners. Youll be instrumental in creating accessible communication, helping to cultivate an environment where students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing can thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications:

  • Current authorization as an educational sign language interpreter from CDE (Colorado Department of Education)
  • EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or above (required)
  • Experience providing interpretation in K-12 settings, spanning both special education and general education considered highly valuable
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel between multiple school sites as an itinerant interpreter
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, assemblies, and school-related activities
  • Collaborate with teachers and service providers to ensure communication access and support student success
  • Adapt interpretation to meet individual student needs, ranging from mild to severe disabilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in educational settings
