This contract opportunity runs through May 2027 and requires on-site commitment, where your skills will directly influence students access to instruction and school participation.
Key Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (documentation required)
- Proven experience in educational or school-based interpreting
- Full-time on-site availability throughout the academic year
- Reliable transportation for a consistent on-site presence
- Completion of all required licensure and credentials (to be verified prior to placement)
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction and all educational activities to ensure full access for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
- Serve as a communication bridge among students, teachers, staff, and peers
- Support both academic and social aspects of the students day-to-day experience
- Uphold professional standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and impartiality
- Collaborate with school staff to adapt to classroom needs and student support plans
