Job Description

A travel opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students across multiple school locations in California. This full-time position offers an engaging environment working within various communities, including Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, and Edna, with the main assignment based in Arroyo Grande, CA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing clear and accurate sign language interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Facilitating effective communication between students, teachers, and staff within classroom settings and related school activities
  • Supporting students access to educational content and assisting in their overall academic success
  • Collaborating with educational teams to adapt communication methods as necessary
  • Traveling between assigned school sites within the region to meet caseload requirements

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid California Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license or California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills tailored to diverse student needs
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours, approximately 37.5 hours per week
  • Adaptability and willingness to travel among multiple schools in Pismo Beach, Santa Maria, Edna, and Arroyo Grande
