Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students across a district in need of specialized educational expertise. A contract opportunity is now available for a credentialed professional with a GA Teacher of the Visually Impaired license to provide essential services to students from elementary through high school grades. This position offers a flexible, part-time schedule with up to 15 hours per week, allowing you to tailor your work to district needs while creating positive outcomes for a diverse student population.
Key Qualifications:
- Current GA Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license required
- Experience working with elementary, middle, and/or high school age groups
- Strong collaboration skills to support district-wide caseload
- Proficiency in adapting instructional strategies to individual learning plans
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Comfort interpreting and supporting students who are visually impaired
- Experience working in a variety of educational settings
- Ability to work independently and manage a multi-site caseload
Responsibilities:
- Serve elementary, middle, and high school students district-wide according to a flexible, need-based schedule
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education teams to provide service and expertise
- Adapt classroom materials and lessons for accessibility and learning
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of effective education plans
- Document and report on student progress
